VANN is the Norwegian word for water. Our fuel, our daily necessity, and the source of our inspiration. VANN more than a word. It is a feeling. A lifestyle. A message that we make visible in our logo.
Our logo consists of two elements that summarize our core values.
The “V” and the “A” are brought together as one. A symbol of connection — between you, me, and everyone who believes in living more consciously.
The “NN” is shaped like a wave. Not just a wave of water, but a wave of change. A rhythm of positive choices, of conscious steps towards a healthier, more sustainable world.

The idea of VANN
The origin of VANN
In 2020, Thijs founded VANN, inspired by a trip to Costa Rica. On a beach full of plastic bottles, he saw an impressive initiative: a whale, built by locals from collected waste — as a symbol of awareness.
That image never left him and formed the basis for VANN: a brand that fights against disposable plastic and enables conscious choices.

The people behind that artwork remain a source of inspiration. Their dedication and creativity gave the starting signal for our mission: less waste, more meaning.

After his trip through Costa Rica, Thijs was bursting with fresh ideas and decided to get started right away. The concept was clear, and with a good dose of motivation he started the journey that would eventually become VANN.
Challenges and valuable lessons
As with every company, VANN also had its challenges. For years, Thijs himself carefully packed and sent all the packages. This period was not always easy, but formed the basis of what VANN is today. It was a wonderful and educational time that laid the foundation for our mission and vision.

356KM for Heroes — Pantheon x VANN
Jorien, Joris, Erik, Bas, and Marciano ran from the pier in Holwert to the Drielandenpunt in Vaals in 30 hours – a 356-kilometer relay race. Extreme heat, exhaustion, and mental limitations didn't stop them. They ran for each other. And for a good cause: Action for Heroes, in support of military personnel, veterans, and their families. VANN is gratefully proud of this winning team!
