Our logo
VANN is the Norwegian word for water. The ultimate source of life, flow, and clarity. But for us, VANN is more than just a name; it's a reminder. An invitation to flow at your own pace, instead of getting swept away by the rush of the day. We've enshrined this philosophy in our logo.
The "V" and the "A" merge into one. This is our symbol for connection. The moment you reconnect with yourself, connected to a growing community that believes in a more conscious lifestyle.
The "NN" forms a flowing wave. It represents the movement of water, but also reflects the inhalation and exhalation of a moment of stillness. It is a calm wave of change: a rhythm of conscious choices for a healthier mindset and a more sustainable planet.
The idea of VANN
In 2020, founder Thijs discovered true Pura Vida in Costa Rica: the art of slowing down and truly living in the moment. But that connection with pure nature was abruptly severed on a beach littered with plastic waste.
It was a local initiative that made the difference: a life-sized whale, built from collected plastic waste. It perfectly reflected two worlds: the calm, conscious Pura Vida lifestyle of Costa Ricans, versus the fast-paced, destructive, throwaway culture of the West. It forced him to press pause.
That image became the heartbeat of VANN. Inspired by the local community's dedication, Thijs decided to create an alternative to single-use plastic. No more quick fixes, but meaningful products, designed for the long term.
